I am privleged to live here in the Adirondacks. When I walk or work in my garden, I am filled with the wonder of nature that reflects the beauty and goodness of it's Creator. My roots go deep in these mountains. For many years I taught art on an Iroquois reservation. Two of my paintings are from a series I painted of mothers and children from that time. Since moving to Warrensburg in 1999, I have concentrated on landscapes. My garden is also a frequent inspiration for my art work. I carry my sketch book and watercolors with me in my car so I can record a scene for a later, more detailed study. At times, I also work from photographs. I prefer acrylics because they don't trigger my allergies and they are by far more environmentally friendly than oil paint. The quick drying time allows me to work in a similar manner to watercolors or to layer the paint like oils. After teaching on the Reservation near Syracuse NY, raising my children and teaching middle/high school Latin in Rochester NY, I now teach elementary art at two local schools. I have two grown children and a wonderful son-in-law. I hope you enjoy my work. Feel free to contact me at koday3025@yahoo.com
